I haven't really bought typical solid core or stranded hookup wire in over a decade, thanks to this huge roll of 8-conductor shielded cable (originally meant for an alarm system install) and a nice big chunk of discarded solid core phone trunk conduit I picked up off the street.pic.twitter.com/IMTs5e5PBb

Haha yeah just the other day I used the last of a reel of CAT-3 I acquired (dumpster diving) in 2002; nice solid-core copper, it's incorporated in dozens of my projects. Stil... I'm all about silicone wire nowadays; SO much nicer to work with. 30AWG is great
