Are there any good, minimal bare metal x86 hypervisors worth hacking on? I'm thinking pass through all the hardware, but allow basic hooking and especially guest kernel debugging, 32bit guests, and maybe memory remapping.

You need it for the Korg Kronos, isn't that true? I have recently had troubles with mine, did you read my e-mails?

Yeah, I have an email backlog though. I've been thinking of trying a few things...

Can you just try the usual HV tools like XEN, KVM or ESXi? Just in case, my kbd is laying disassembled on an armchair, if it could be helpful for trying out and testing new things.

Yeah, I'm going to give qemu/kvm with a realtime host kernel a go, see if that performs well enough. It seems I can get 3.5GB of lowmem with qemu which is better than the bare metal (3-3.25)

Are there any known tricks to boot the Kronos without connecting the keybed to the rs232 header on the motherboard? (and thus skipping error 19 keybed?)

I haven't looked into it yet. I could use this... that's the only missing bit I need to pass through to boot it in a VM. I guess I should look at the code again.

Today i rooted my kronos always hanging at loading bank data and finally discovered why it did so. KARMA was the culprit. Trying to load PRELOAD.KGE crashes the NKS4 board. (linux keeps running fine). No problems loading PCG and KSC. Time to swap motherboard! B360N-WIFI anyone?pic.twitter.com/IccGl2f3hX

Hi Marcan, i've got a B360N-WIFI ITX Mobo with an I3-8100 and 8gb RAM and snuck it into my kronos, but that obsolete patched kernel is not starting. Also tried with a MSI Z370A-Pro, same happens. Here's a pic, do you have any idea where to start looking?pic.twitter.com/berzMBp3Sr
