I'm still amazed that people care more about the loss of headphone jack on the iPhone X (yes it's absurd but) compared to the insistence on lightning over usb-c.

At least the 30pin could deliver uncompressed HD video. You know how the Lightning-HDMI adapter works, right? They **are basically iPhone 2G chipsets** running full Darwin + a streaming daemon. They encode the video as h.264 on the phone and dump it over USB2 to the adapter.
