Oh cool! Didn't know about script(1)! I discovered man sections 2 and 3 when I got into using System Calls and Library Calls! Lmao and I only recently discovered that the number within the brackets is the section number.

Trivia... file(1), hexdump(1), objdump(1), ldd(1), strace(1) ,ltrace(1) and gdb(1) are good places to start when trying to get info on a binary.

Definitely tac, my former coworkers tried from time to time to "correct" my scripts assuming it's cat misspelled :)

I know this one from 4K demos. A trick for packing data into a shellscript is to "tac" it to the end, then have the script tac itself. Works great if whatever binary file format you used ignores trailing junk (and tac is binary-clean even though it's meant for text).
