      Assuming a manpage for [thing] as a program exists. if not itll try man 2 thing, then man 3 thing, etc. Basically resolves whatever the first thing could be.

      2 and 3 are the ones I always use and remember. Straight to 2 for syscalls and 3 for libc functions. There are too many collisions with commands there. When I need to visit the higher numbers I'm usually following references and get the number anyway, signal(7) → man 7 signal.
