The big reason why healthcare isn't a free market is that it's not opt-in. You can't put a price tag on your own life. Supply and demand doesn't work.

Also, you don't choose what you're sick with. One doesn't pick and choose diseases that they want based on what you can afford. I argue that the model of supply and demand doesnt work anywhere really, especially recently, but its especially clear in healthcare.
