I'm more inclined to blame Twitter for this one. Their app seems to have a thing for getting all of its requests stuck until you kill it and restart. At least the Android version does.

Also interesting that I see tweets in my feed that are replies to a protected tweet so I get absolutely 0 context on them, making them somewhat useless, thanks

I thought Twitter only showed replies in your feed if you followed both people.
