I think to some extent vague jabs are OK? Obviously ignoring that he was hurting people unintentionally. If that weren't the case, it just boils down to "I use a big comical knife to open my packages and [carefully, though] cut towards myself as a jab towards knife safety".

It's obviously not educational, it's just silly, but I don't think there's anything inherently wrong about that; if he wants to have some quirky behavior on screen like that, that's his choice.

I agree with putting up some resistance for his careless use of the term "trigger" in order to better the community; I think the reason why you got such backlash was simply an issue of wording.

I don't. In my experience, no matter how nonthreateningly you put things, you get angry men back. Might as well get to the point and sinkhole everyone whose hobby is to be an asshole on the internet.

See, the amusing part is that at one point, I was bewildered by the apparent hostility. I thought, "Surely I can do better! I'll just be reasonable and everyone will listen to what I say" and then what I got back was not an implication (like you mentioned), but...
