There's different levels of trust. It's hard to truly trust someone, but I find it helps to assume good faith (as long as I'm not putting much on the line based on that assumption) and revoke when clearly proven otherwise.

This is definitely a digression from the OP. Your first message on this thread came at the end of a particular train wreck of a day for me and it seemed I'd just lost a friend to gender politics, which didn't help.

Sorry, "gender politics" was poor word choice. I used that term when privately talking about things that day (not quite in a state of mind to care about words much) and just parroted it back today without thinking. My bad.

That *really* wasn't what I was going for. The OP of this thread was about a gender-related topic and my brain just conflated things. I was very emotional at the time for unrelated reasons and not thinking straight.
