There's different levels of trust. It's hard to truly trust someone, but I find it helps to assume good faith (as long as I'm not putting much on the line based on that assumption) and revoke when clearly proven otherwise.

This is definitely a digression from the OP. Your first message on this thread came at the end of a particular train wreck of a day for me and it seemed I'd just lost a friend to gender politics, which didn't help.

We definitely need more accountability for overt bad behavior, and there's definitely a lot of that going around (and much of it goes unnoticed). That's what I was trying to acknowledge in the original tweet.

Beer is optional, I don't even like the stuff much. More bandwidth helps a lot though. The goal isn't even necessarily to agree 100%, but to reach a common understanding IMO. Twitter is just pretty bad for this (IRC is better, IRL is best).
