@scanlime That Jessica Price RT made me realize something. I know I just argued that Dave probably wasn't malicious (in that video anyway), but there are a lot of people who obviously *are* and I should call them out more often rather than just shaking my head.

am finding gender/discrim/etc topics to be minefield to discuss online. I count many on Twitter as honorary friends (='whose interests I share and respect, follow online & like chatting to regularly') but IRL we'd be talking about this over a beer and it'd work so much better.
I know the feeling. Talking with people who know me is difficult, and talking to randoms a recipe for disaster half of the time. Being a cis white male is a big disadvantage; I've been blocked without warning for simple misunderstandings.

I know we just had a somewhat heated conversation, but I think us three on this thread agree on more things than we disagree on. Certainly the most important ones. Online it just feels like that every conversation winds up focusing on disagreements first.
