Indeed. My home NAS is a micro ATX tower with 2 extra bays jury rigged in; fits 7 or 8 but it's indeed a pain to swap drives. My offsite backup system is a 15-drive rackmount enclosure (Dell MD1000) and a 1U server. Works well, but too noisy for home.

You can get it secondhand for cheap (it's obsolete). I paid 150 bucks for one with all the drive enclosures (but no SATA interposers, so it only operates in single redundancy mode; I got those later but haven't installed them yet).
