Wow, installing something in Arch just pulled in xine-lib as a dependency. I haven't heard that name in ages. The xine UI is still available... and looks exactly the same as it did a decade ago. Anyone else remember?pic.twitter.com/KOPBGUDhCO

I do (I think my Fedora Core 3 book even had a section on it!) but I switched to mplayer pretty much immediately. I just installed it again and am a bit sad that it seems to have no local file playback support.
xine plays local files fine for me (though I had to set the audio output device to alsa, because native pulseaudio doesn't work for some reason).
