Also remember that's 300mbps half-duplex (because USB2). And that's "theoretical max". Even though sane USB2 controllers (like on PCs) actually go faster *in practice* (I've seen 330mbps for plain bulk). In before it actually tops out at 200mbps or so in practice.

Because they’re still shipping leftover cheapo tablet SoCs, and why would that have GigE. Broadcom isn’t in this for the good of humanity, they’re in this for the money. They won’t go out of their way to do anything that the bare minimum. The Oracle of silicon :/.

Exactly. The Orange Pi (Allwinner H3) range have vastly superior I/O (3 uncontended USB HS ports, separate ethernet (up to gig), wifi etc). A single USB OTG port for everything is just ugh.
