Okay, I should've shouted this earlier. THE AMD VULNERABILITIES THAT JUST CAME OUT HAVE NOTHING WHATSO-FUCKING-EVER TO DO WITH MELTDOWN/SPECTRE IN SCOPE, DANGER, OR APPLICABILITY. ANY COMPARISONS DEMONSTRATE A COMPLETE LACK OF UNDERSTANDING AND A FAILURE AT TECH JOURNALISM.

I bet that Intel is trying to damage Ryzen CPUs reputation, since all Intel ones are affected by Meltdown and/or Spectre and AFAIK AMD Ryzen ones not.

Spectre-1 affects both (and the entire CPU industry and computer science field, really). Spectre-2 also affects both but AMD says their CPUs are harder to exploit. Meltdown is an Intel-exclusive screwup (except for that one ARM code, inexplicably).
