The benchmarks etc that I've been running w/ bumblebee seem p decent tbh, is it really that bad?
Now perf is okay-ish, but it's still fragile. Plus the blob driver breaks every second kernel/xorg update. And there are issues with card power management. It's all a duct taped hack to work around the fact that Nvidia supports none of the modern kernel technologies for this.

With Nouveau everything just works. Proper PRIME support. Card auto sleep. VGA switcheroo. No need for daemons. No need for virtualGL. Proper xrandr. It just does Optimus the way it's supposed to work. Shows what Nvidia *could* do if they cared.

With some of the discussed specs from the intel/AMD single-board CPU/GPU pair, I am honestly considering switching as a customer, if for no other reason than that sounds like a really neat concept if implemented well.
