Today's new pet peeve: so-called 'PC enthusiasts' that increase random clocks speeds (PCIe bus speed‽) without knowing what they're doing. How can you call yourself an enthusiast if you don't know your system? You just tweak things until a benchmark shows you higher number.

Of course your sound card is going to crash at some point when its PLL can't get a lock on a 50% out of spec signal. You should know this! If you get a speed increase in your benchmarks from doing shit like this, then someone probably really fucked up their texture transfer code.

Gotta get muh 5% faster everything bro! Seriously though I don't think anyone gets away with a 50% increase to the PCIe clocks. Things fall apart way before that. But I'm sure they try anyway.

If you enjoy shouting angrily at your computer screen, Google for 'pcie overclock'. Some forum threads mention MAD 1.8% GAINZ at 130MHz. *shudder*
