I'm finding the endless "fail0verflow never releases anything" talk rather tiring. It seems the 5 years we spent basically running the Wii homebrew scene (as Team Twiizers) and releasing everything didn't exist. Also https://github.com/fail0verflow .
There's no guide. You just have to get involved in generation N and by generation N+1 or N+2 you'll know what you're doing :)

That's up to you. Something like the Wii is probably not a bad idea, if only because it's quite well documented these days.
