I'm finding the endless "fail0verflow never releases anything" talk rather tiring. It seems the 5 years we spent basically running the Wii homebrew scene (as Team Twiizers) and releasing everything didn't exist. Also https://github.com/fail0verflow .

I feel like people that are modding their consoles are probably 90% for piracy, 7% region-unlocking and emulation, 3% homebrew software. Not the scene, but the consumers thereof.
-
The problem is without serious developers to deliver the latter 10% it becomes 100% piracy. Any idiot can write a warezloader. You're just redirecting reads from device A to device B.

Just try to release the Homebrew related stuff
-
We can't "make homebrew happen" by ourselves, and without support the end result will be some idiot writes a warezloader and that's the only end result.

Tons of people love your work and aren't in it just for piracy, it's just that the ones who are make much more noise than the people who actually appreciate you guys

I love Nintendo, I want to support devs by not pirating games. I want to see the Switch's potential and I would love to know how this was done. For those two reasons, I would want to see
@fail0verflow release the BootROM bug, although there would need to be anti-piracy measures. -
Anti-piracy measures are not technically possible in most cases.

You have a point, nevertheless the entry bar is very high, effectively limiting access to a lot of developers, because not all of them will invest time in passing these "tests" and in the end all systems get piracy anyway..
-
We tried not having an entry bar with the PS3 and we got a piracy fest with ~zero homebrew. Not having some basic criteria is not a morally acceptable option.
