Bitcoin consumes 4,000,000,000 W of power to process four transactions per second. A single Raspberry Pi with a database can do an order of magnitude more on 5W. Think about that next time you wonder if it's a good design.
It's hard not to be an arrogant asshole when you get >100 replies from people who drank all the kool-aid and don't understand orders of magnitude (and don't read other replies so keep using the same points).

It's also probably a waste of time to argue if the tone of the replies I get makes it highly unlikely that the people making them will be receptive to thought changing ideas. Honestly I'm not even sure why I try. Only got a couple interesting threads in the end.
