Bitcoin consumes 4,000,000,000 W of power to process four transactions per second. A single Raspberry Pi with a database can do an order of magnitude more on 5W. Think about that next time you wonder if it's a good design.

Go get 'em, Tiger! BCH and ETH et al FTW.
BHC is only about 80 times more power-efficient than BTC (because it has 1/10th the hashrate and 8 times more transaction throughput). Two orders of magnitude down, still 7 to go. Not exactly a solution to the problem.
