I just recompiled an entire (new) Gentoo system in 1 hour. I also just ran a Windows update and that also took 1 hour. Food for thought, Microsoft.

Rebuilding an old x86 box after forced profile update will take a week or more. Wonder why I try keeping it alive...
No way, not unless it's positively ancient and has a decade of software on it. My Ivy Bridge laptop rebuilt itself in 50 hours, and it's a 14 year old install with an enormous worldfile. What could possibly take a week?
