Bitcoin consumes 4,000,000,000 W of power to process four transactions per second. A single Raspberry Pi with a database can do an order of magnitude more on 5W. Think about that next time you wonder if it's a good design.

All of that is completely irrelevant, because Bitcoin *does not function*. If everyone used Bitcoin today, and everyone tried to make *one* transaction, it would take *over 40 years* to go through. You get two transactions *in your entire lifetime*.

Think about how well that's going to work when the economy collapses (which it will sooner or later) and people try to get their money out and use it.
