Bitcoin consumes 4,000,000,000 W of power to process four transactions per second. A single Raspberry Pi with a database can do an order of magnitude more on 5W. Think about that next time you wonder if it's a good design.

The Internet also did not begin life using gigawatts of power. It scales linearly in usefulness with power. Bitcoin has *no* scaling. The more power you waste, you're still stuck at 4 transactions per second. Literally the first Web server could do better than that.
