Remember, that took *us* a month of frustration to debug. With printf, source code, gdb-over-gecko, and debug wrappers around malloc(). At one point I taught myself to read swizzled texture tiles of font glyphs from gdb memory hexdumps. Now do it on an uninstrumented binary.
