Bitcoin consumes 4,000,000,000 W of power to process four transactions per second. A single Raspberry Pi with a database can do an order of magnitude more on 5W. Think about that next time you wonder if it's a good design.

Decentralization neither requires nor is worth a nine freaking order of magnitude overhead. That is just comically bad. The only reason Bitcoin hasn't died yet is due to all the speculation turning it into a game for investors; it's the only thing it's good for.

I think it will be some time before that happens. All these scamming ICO and hacks, the market is going to cool intil the next big thing comes around. Imo
