Spectre is fine. It includes the spec part of speculative execution, and invokes the sense that this will hang over our heads for a long time, as new aspects are discovered.
It's a terrible name that doesn't specify which of the speculative execution-related problems it refers to, and actually manages to refer to *two* distinct ones (with distinct CVEs). The "hang over our heads" aspect is specific to *one* of them.
Seriously, it's terribad. Also, vuln names should not be plain dictionary words. That's just dumb. Give things a compound name to avoid collisions.
