      1950X, X399 Taichi, 960 EVO 500GB, 4× KVR24E17D8/16, NH-U14S TR4-SP3, RM850x, Antec P8. Junkbox GPU for now, since this is a primarily a compute box. Maybe games later.

      Thanks. I'm considering the fatal1ty board but going back and forth on what ram to buy. Quad channel for sure, but reading different recommendations about speed, though the difference from 2400 to 3200 seems almost negligible unless you're looking at specific benchmarks

      I made a point to get ECC RAM and a motherboard that supports it. Non-ECC is a huge liability at current densities. You *will* get bit flips.

      ASRock doesn't list KVR24E17D8/16 as qualified for the board (or Fatal1ty, which I guess is the same board without some gaming gizmos and a 10G port) .. but wouldn't surprise me if it worked, though. Keep us posted :)

      We have JEDEC standards for a reason. Any standards-compliant memory should work on any standards-compliant motherboard.

          *should* but Zen has some major memory compatibility issues - moreso than I’ve ever seen with Intel. They’ve gotten better with newer UEFI releases but still not perfect. 1800X with ASUS x370 Pro here

          The Kingston website lists the Taichi as compatible, it appears. My guess is it'll work .. however, does KVR24E17D8/16 work in quad-channel mode, provided 4 sticks are present? Documentation on this is rather sparse.
