Speaking of money transfer, I once did some contract work and they offered to mail me a check. MAIL ME A CHECK. IN AN ENVELOPE. Do I look like a computer engineer to you or an 18th century LARPer?
I had a US client do that to me once. I had trouble finding a person at the branch who had any idea what to do with it, it took one month to cash, and I ended up paying €50 in fees. Nope. Never again.

It took me a month and €50 in fees to deposit a bank draft in 2017, and I had to shop around to find a bank with a US correspondent. Now I have a US bank account just for American deposits.
