If you want some really fun instruction scheduling, check out the GameCube BIOS (BS1). The whole SPI ROM is encrypted sequentially, so it's structured to cause all ROM fetches to happen at sequential addresses from the start. It eventually triggers a DMA of the rest of ROM.

It's really fun to look at. After enabling the cache it starts bouncing through a jump chain every 32 bytes to preload the rest of the bootstrap into cache sequentially, then the holes between the jumps are filled with the actual code.pic.twitter.com/BWT6eYt2JX
