Did you find a good upscaler? The cheap one I have upscales the 625i lines to 720p with two black areas, not full-screen. Worse with full HD.

The XRGB Mini has configurable zoom. Configurable everything, really. Lots of knobs in the menu.

Have you got/tried an OSSC ?

I haven't. I considered it, but it has more limitations than the XRGB since it doesn't do frame buffering. Lower latency, but not so good for compatibility which was my #1 requirement.
