That said, I imagine it varies per field. The value proposition of a college degree per se vs. the knowledge you gain and what alternatives there are changes drastically from major to major. You probably have good reason to be invested in your classes.
I showed to all my classes my first semester, then realized I was the only idiot doing so. After that, I realized the goal is to learn and pass, attendance is just a means to an end. Obviously I didn't skip mandatory attendance courses.
