Sigh, I need to remember to never read the YouTube comments on @Techmoan videos. There is *always* a huge misguided discussion about analog vs. digital that raises my blood pressure. Your argument is invalid unless you have ABX tests to back it. Hint: digital does.

Analog is great and fun and fascinating and good analog can sound great but. Stop. Claiming. It's. Fundamentally. Better. Than. Digital. It just isn't. Ever. CDs can reproduce the entirety of the human hearing range under all practical conditions. Full stop.

analog can have imperfections that make it sound more pleasing to the (your) ear, but I don't think there are many people that are making that argument

That's called a mastering effect. Then you take the analog output, digitize it again, and burn it onto a CD. Voila.

Oh, I'm talking about vinyl, I'm not silly enough to argue in favor of something like cassette tapes btw

Sure, I'm saying if you like the sound of vinyl you should buy your vinyl record, play it *once* into a high quality ADC, and then store it away and never bother with it again. That's the only way you'll enjoy the best possible vinyl sound without degradation over time.

but what if you *want* it to degrade over time
i mean, as an analogy, nothing beats the pleasure of a repeatedly recompressed low quality JPEG1 reply 0 retweets 3 likes
FWIW, I do think it's fascinating how good analog *can* be. Techmoan's video on the best cassette tape setups is pretty good. I think owning and preserving high quality analog equipment is a fascinating hobby. Just don't delude yourself into saying it beats good digital :-)
