Sigh, I need to remember to never read the YouTube comments on @Techmoan videos. There is *always* a huge misguided discussion about analog vs. digital that raises my blood pressure. Your argument is invalid unless you have ABX tests to back it. Hint: digital does.

If you the words "infinite sample rates" or "time resolution" or "16 bits of dynamic range" or "24bit/192k" are now popping into your head as counterarguments, you need to watch this video and try again: https://xiph.org/video/vid2.shtml …

analog can have imperfections that make it sound more pleasing to the (your) ear, but I don't think there are many people that are making that argument
-
That's called a mastering effect. Then you take the analog output, digitize it again, and burn it onto a CD. Voila.

It's funny that with all tech now, records are still the only tech that can hold information the longest without loss or corruption
-
That is certainly true. Analog is a lot more apocalypse-proof than digital. Digital is really good at preserving stuff *perfectly*, but if you mess up it's gone, and it requires maintenance. Analog degrades, but you can always get something out of it.

44.1kHz/16bit is not always the same though. ignoring overall recording quality. IMO the highs of early CDs from the 80s sound worse than contemporary releases. There were a lot improvements made to both DACs and ADCs (mainly oversampling and other stages)
-
I'm not talking about *specific* ADCs/DACs. I'm talking about the format. The format is mathematically defined; of course you have to use hardware that can fully utilize it or else you'll have a substandard result.

Then olde /me always thinks: “But what about the aliens that will hear our music in the future?!?”
