Analog is great and fun and fascinating and good analog can sound great but. Stop. Claiming. It's. Fundamentally. Better. Than. Digital. It just isn't. Ever. CDs can reproduce the entirety of the human hearing range under all practical conditions. Full stop.

For some reason direct to speakers output from my Doepfer modular synth sounds better than through my RME Fireface. But I might be imagining it. Or Fireface is not perfect.
If you build a little relay box and some scripts you can try ABXing yourself, though you need to be very careful to level match within better than 1dB. There may well be a difference, though, due to unaccounted variables.
It can be used as an argument that 16/44k is insufficient. Combined with the fact that 16/44k is *theoretically* sufficient, that can be used to argue that the theory is wrong and you actually need infinite bit depth and sample rate.

That is a solvable problem. I have a DIY speaker controller, with 6 channels and 15 biquad EQ filters per channel (90 filters total) at 96kHz/24bit, plus a full matrix mixer. End-to-end latency is something like 30 samples (that's about 10cm in air).
I have friend who is spending large sums on what I consider to be silly Analog fads, with audiophile marketing claims which he'd sometimes quote to me enthusiastically. We had to declare subject off-limits in order to stay friends; was getting ugly.

Sure, but that is an implementation issue. There is no fundamental reason digital has to have higher latency.
