This makes sense, because only half of the Toshibas is in use right now, since I'm halfway through upgrading the array from 4T drives to 8T drives. The question is what will the left graph look like once all the drives are 8T?

Are you sure the drop isn't due to other things that happen the longer the drives operate? For example thermal causes?

Pretty sure. This is a very well known effect that all drives have to some extent. It's a natural consequence of the fixed rotational speed. Inner tracks are shorter, and therefore hold less data.
