I love it when a developer closes a bug with a fix that is completely ineffective due to a different bug. Makes it obvious they didn't actually test anything.

Who has time to test when there are so many bugs to create?

On a side note, that's a reason why it's useful to distinguish "fixed" (responsibility of the dev) and "closed" (responsibility of the reporter) in a bug tracker.

This is why bug bounties are needed everywhere. New bug? New cost. More incentive to improve hiring and firing practices..

At work we close a lot of bugs when we kick off automation that should fix them. Of course automation will reopen them if the problem persists. We also have a verified status for the reporter to set.
