That's why you don't use swap (did you?). Also, 1/ can we find your alerts description somewhere? 2/Do you automate node-exporter deployment?
No swap. Still thrashes, because all running processes' .text is effectively free swap. My alerts are trivial, just stuff like up < 1 or (node_memory_MemAvailable / node_memory_MemTotal) < 0.12. No automation besides installing it in template VM images and such.

On some infras I have automated deployment of a certain class of hosts as a whole and in that case obviously node_exporter would be part of it.
