also the part about you not eing responsible for the synth spouting dubstep or turning into a roland was hillarious.
It is true though that I'm not really making choices to maximize the amount of money I make. I would rather have more freedom than work fixed hours, even if it pays less overall. I did leave a nice job to move to an interesting country (with lower salaries) after all.

Right now I do consulting and I have a stable long-term client that pays okay and I'm *very* happy to work with since i have a good dynamic with them (and the work is fairly good, though not *the* most interesting ever), plus random gigs and intermittent clients.
