I think you're putting me up too much on a pedestal here :-). I'm just a tinkerer who likes messing with things. I'm terrible about blogging about stuff, this was my first post of the year! I'm also pretty bad at finding clients to get work.

It is true though that I'm not really making choices to maximize the amount of money I make. I would rather have more freedom than work fixed hours, even if it pays less overall. I did leave a nice job to move to an interesting country (with lower salaries) after all.

Right now I do consulting and I have a stable long-term client that pays okay and I'm *very* happy to work with since i have a good dynamic with them (and the work is fairly good, though not *the* most interesting ever), plus random gigs and intermittent clients.
