      Why is a little single-use Debian LAMP server VM I have installing freaking gnome-icon-theme (and GTK, and even more X nonsense)?! How do all these Debian/Ubuntu server users deal with this? Seriously, this is madness.

      I find it immensely frustrating myself, but I think the typical argument is something along the lines of not wanting users to be missing possibly-needed functionality.

      So apparently this got pulled in because the default pinentry is pinentry-gtk2 instead of pinentry-ncurses... 🤦‍♂️
