Is it me, or is typeface design basically what we would call copyright infringement in other fields? Every font is based on some other font.
Everything's a remix, but the parameter space of a Latin charset font is so small that some fonts are nigh indistinguishable.

Yeah, metric-compatible fonts are a nice hack. Those don't actually have to be similar at all, just have the same bounds. Totally legit IMO.
