I'm just being practical here, for cases where it's just a simple stat. I don't feel bad when I have to pick "other" in non gender questions

People always should have the right not to answer and the right to have an answer that they fit in even if it's a catch-all though.
I get that it's a sensitive topic, and profiles absolutely *must* use freeform text fields because that's something *displayed*.
