The problem is KRACK is a *bunch* of vulnerabilities in a *bunch* of software with nontrivial exploits and implications.
But the one shown in the video is, yeah, like the old fake AP trick. Most clients wouldn't change their behavior based on AP identity.

At most you can use it to intrusively take over an existing connection and sniff whatever few outgoing packets are sent (and never make it).

So you could use it to randomly pull pkts from the middle of a LAN connection but you'd destroy it in the process, no MITM.
