interesting to note the dock won’t run on any power supply but nintendo’s. seems to be DRM’d to not work, even if enough power is present

I’m using the PowerPort+ 5 which says it has a 15V/2A profile, but didn’t power the dock. Haven’t tried a dedicated 3rd party charger yet.

You need at least 2.6A. The dock isn't just a charger but has a hard requirement for min current for sure.
