Europe has always said the same: they do not enter into "internal affairs". Also, appealing to Europe might take more than a decade.
It would be nice if the Spanish government made things easier for Catalonia, but if they don't, ignoring the law isn't going to fix it.

And don't get me wrong, I *get* the frustration and I *get* the motivation. But it's just not something that can be unilaterally decided.

In my case, I don't see any other possible choice. Even less after 20th September, with 15 elected Catalonian politicians arrested.
