The right approach IMO is to appeal to Europe if Spain is doing something that is arguably against Catalonia's rights.
Again, this is a complicated issue and there's certainly a point to pushing the process forward in some workable way, but not this way.

It would be nice if the Spanish government made things easier for Catalonia, but if they don't, ignoring the law isn't going to fix it.

And don't get me wrong, I *get* the frustration and I *get* the motivation. But it's just not something that can be unilaterally decided.
