Today is the 13th birthday of my main workstation's @Gentoo Linux amd64 install. 13 years of OS updates across 5 PCs, no reinstalling.

An AMD Athlon 64 3000+ "ClawHammer" Socket 754, the first line of consumer 64-bit CPUs (those were the good old days).

I remember the CPU fan jammed on a wire once. Didn't notice until a 12h compile triggered a thermal shutdown. That thing idled at room temp.
