Today is the 13th birthday of my main workstation's @Gentoo Linux amd64 install. 13 years of OS updates across 5 PCs, no reinstalling.

Grep on the log says I've compiled a total of 69100 packages in these 13 years, or an average of 14.5 per day.

And I did 938 'emerge --sync's and a total of 2390 world updates, though only ~400 "unique" ones (on different days), or 3 per month.

How big is that log files? (And how many lines?)

640k lines, 58MB. It's only a few lines per package installed.
