      Some sort of weather-proof, insulating, flexible conformal coating would be amazing. I'm guessing the flexible requirement is the difficulty

      The problem is just that it's not one continuous coating; tape has layers and an end.

      Actually I only saw it used. It made a nice seal but I have no idea what brand it was.

      I've used it in the past (no idea what brand either). Works great for larger joints, but I don't think it'd really work for smaller ones.
